The oval/egg-shaped lead split-shot sinker dial kit (often called a "clam shot" or "olive shot" assortment) in a black selector wheel. Unlike perfectly round split shots, these weights feature an elongated, aerodynamic profile.
The technical specifications and features for this 50g to 70g class oval-shot assortment include:
Technical Specifications
Total Content Weight: Roughly 50g to 70g across the entire kit.
Material:Soft, untreated raw lead. The high density yields a heavy weight in a low-profile footprint, while the malleable structure allows for non-destructive crimping onto lines.
Sinker Style:Oval / Removable Clam Shot. Features an elongated olive shape with a deep lengthwise split down the middle and two small leverage tabs (ears) at the rear seam.
Assortment Breakdown: Typically splits the weight across 5 distinct compartments. Individual pieces vary step-by-step from ultra-light micro shots (around 0.5g) up to heavy pivot shots (around 2g to 3g).
Advanced Design Features
Streamlined Stream Performance: The elongated oval profile slides through thick subsurface river weeds, kelp, and submerged structure far more fluidly than round split-shots. It is drastically less prone to wedging inside tight rocky crevices.
Tangle-Free Casting Dynamics: Due to its tapered ends, this style creates less aerodynamic drag during casts, lowering line wobble and minimizing messy line wrap-arounds when casting into stiff headwinds.
Non-Destructive Line Gripping: The deep, smooth interior groove ensures that when you crimp the weight down, pressure is evenly applied across the exterior jacket of your leader material. This prevents severe pinching that can drop the breaking strength of monofilament or fluorocarbon.
Spill-Proof Selector Gate: The center hub features a tension-fit clear lid paired with a black locking wedge. You rotate the wedge cutout to open just one specific weight pocket, keeping the other four sizes entirely sealed away even if dropped on a boat deck or riverbank
