The Fiber Optic Kevlar Cutting Scissors with orange and grey ergonomic plastic handles and micro-serrated carbon or stainless steel blades designed to grip and cut aramid/Kevlar strength members in fiber optic cables.

Primary Function: They are specialized technician shears designed specifically to slice through tough Kevlar strength members (the yellow protective aramid yarn) found inside fiber optic cables. Standard scissors will quickly dull or slip off Kevlar fibers without cutting them.

Micro-Serrated Blades: One or both of the carbon steel blades feature micro-serrations. This texture prevents the slick, tough aramid yarns from sliding forward as the blades close.

Integrated Notch: The curved notch cutout at the base of the blade serves as a built-in cable cutter, allowing technicians to snip through soft outer jackets or smaller drop fiber cables up to 5mm before prepping the internal glass strands.
